Hi Red Velvet Stephanie, welcome to cupcake forum :) Being a New Yorker, I was well into adulthood before I'd _heard_ of Red Velvet Cake, and what I'd heard about it was that it was a "Southern" food. In the last few years, however, I've noticed that a lot of diners, bakeries, etc. sell red velvet cake and/or cupcakes and now it's pretty common here. Is this now the case in California, too?

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies! My goodness yes, Red Velvet is everywhere! Bakeries, our favorite restaurants, grocery stores and now 7-11! haha Red Velvet Cheesecakes, cakes, cupcakes, cake balls, cake pops, cheesecake cupcakes, woopie pies and wedding cakes. This southern dessert is here to stay in Southern California! :)
