Decorating Giant Cupcake

Can anybody tell me how to decorate the base of the giant cupcake using fondant? I wouldn't know where to start being the amateur that I am :tongue2:

Have you tried turning it upside down and covering it that way? Here's a video of the process (on a regular cake) :)
