The book is divided into different sections, depending on what type of cupcake creation you would like to conquer (say that 3x’s fast). Cupcake designs include:

What a Wedding!
Happy Birthday!
The Wild Ones
In the Garden
and more…
Noga begins the book by giving you basic recipes to make your standard chocolate and white cupcakes (Yielding 40 standard or 20 large). There are also recipes to make your own buttercream, royal icing and fondant at home, though Noga reminds you that you can easily purchase fondant in many colors at local stores (such as Michael’s).

What I love is that Nora has top photography in this book for every single cupcake, so you are not stuck wondering what your cupcake is supposed to look like. She has also provided photos of what the required tools look like. This is awesome for me- so I know what a “open-curve crimper” or “design wheeler” is when I head out to buy them.

I haven’t tried making any cupcakes yet as there are quite a few tools I need- maybe I’ll win a gift card to CSN Stores on another blog and stock up in their cookware store. When I do make my first batch of cupcakes, which I will, I will update you on the effectiveness of the book.

I will say, though, that her approach to explaining how to create her amazing designs step-by-step (again, with photos) is great for beginners.

The cupcake designs she created are so amazing, I think you’ll be a hit to your children, friends, colleagues or whomever you choose to make these cupcakes for!
